Whilst the company was started in 1996 by Luigi Albert as a geomechanical consultancy, it gradually expanded its competences to deliver a wider range of projects in the civil engineering field.

SOIL srl today provides services in the fields of geology, geotechnical engineering, tunnelling, land protection and structural engineering. Among its customers are public institutions, construction companies and engineering firms.

Specialists at SOIL are able to cope with all aspects involved in a civil engineering project, ranging from preliminary consultancy studies to the supervision of works during the construction stage.

30 people are currently employed at SOIL Srl (of which: 23 hold an MSc or PhD degree, 7 hold an engineering technician qualification). External collaborations with trusted partners are also established during the busiest periods. The size of the company (half-way between a small company and a public limited company) is such that large and important projects are delivered, whilst involving both managers and technicians in all aspects of the business.

SOIL srl in 2009 had a production peak of about 300 technical documents/month. In 2009 SOIL’s turnover was about € 2.2 million.

SOIL srl has achieved the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 certification (CERT-13593-2004-AQ-MIL-SINCERT: DET NORSKE VERITAS, 03-02-2004).
