Job Description

Control of the detailed design of the bridge foundations (tower and anchor blocks) and of the roads and railway links (foundations of civil structures; tunnels and tunnels portals). The bridge main span is 3300m long; it is supported by two towers of 360m height. The tower foundations include diaphragms walls (they are also the retaining structures for the foundations soils excavation) with deep jet-grouting columns inside.Around the foundation blocks, a wide and deep section of the natural soil is treated with jet grouting columns designed in order to prevent liquefaction during seismic events and to provide a strong confinement against horizontal loads.Anchor blocks are deeply embedded below grade and surrounded by diaphragm walls retaining structures. The road and railway links include many civil structures such as viaducts and 50kms of large diameter tunnels.
